Timing solution for
Biathlon

Reliable Timing from Start to Finish

With combined skiing and shooting segments, biathlon events require a timing system that’s flexible, accurate, and easy to deploy. RACE RESULT delivers precise results with wireless timing points that adapt to any course layout, even in demanding winter conditions.

Why our solution?

Timing Across Wide start Lines

With an extended loop cable and Ubidium timing system, you can cover up to 30 m in width. Perfect for ski-in/ski-out stadiums and large start/finish zones.

Wireless Splits Near the Range

Loop Boxes can be used at intermediate points like the shooting range entrance or exit, transmitting data wirelessly to a nearby Ubidium in real time.

Flexible Software Features

RACE RESULT 12 software lets you use API inputs to include shooting data or penalties into your results and live scoreboards.

Setup

Participants wear an Active V3 Transponder on their ankle, and if necessary, two transponders per participant for even more accurate finish times.
At the start and finish lines, as well as at intermediate points, a Ubidium timing system is set up. The loop cable for transponder detection is buried in the snow. All times are transmitted live to the timing software via Wi-Fi, SIM, or Ethernet.
Optionally, the small standalone Loop Box can capture additional data in the stadium (e.g., penalty loops, sector times) and wirelessly relay this data to Ubidium (up to 500 m range).
For the biathlon shooting range, you have two options: Using a built-in kiosk tool in our software, judges can enter the shooting results directly, or the software can automatically receive data from the shooting range via an API. The RACE RESULT 12 software offers various features for dynamic display of start lists, individual start countdowns, live intermediate times, result lists, and more.

Ubidium

The cutting-edge timing system designed for superior performance and versatility. Boasts exceptional weatherproofing, lightweight design, and up to 32 hours battery life. Data is transmitted in real-time through multiple options, including SIM, Ethernet, POE, or USB-C connections.

ActivePro V3 Transponder

The most powerful active transponder on the market. With an outstanding accuracy of 0.004 seconds at speeds of up to 120 km/h, it is the ideal choice for most events. The guaranteed battery life of 5 years ensures reliable operation. Thanks to Tracking Mode and Store Mode, numerous split times can be recorded with minimal setup – unique in its class.

Loop Box (Optional)

Easy and cost-effective way to collect splits times. At nearby timing points detections are repeated wirelessly to the main system. In case of remote timing points, the ActivePro Transponder saves the passing time and then transmits them when arriving at the finish. Integrated battery for 12-20 h.
