In 2023, we introduced Ubidium, the most advanced timing system on the market. Ubidium was meticulously developed to meet the specific needs of the industry. It is unmatched with a compact form factor, connectivity, extended battery life, and weather protection. Inside, it boasts the most precise time base of all available timing systems. We perfected the timing algorithm over many years to ensure the highest detection rates.
The Ubidium Ground Antenna is the successor to the patented ground antenna we introduced in 2014, the first foldable UHF timing mat. The new concept now takes our innovation to the next level. Imagine setting up a 75-foot start line with a single decoder, and without losing detection quality. Each mat segment contains a custom RACE RESULT engineered UHF reader and antenna, tailored to the needs of sports timing.
Timing technology is essential for sports events like road races, but it shouldn’t interfere with the organizer’s ability to deliver a world-class event experience. Reducing the setup time minimizes road closures, risks, staffing, administrative expenses, and event impacts on local communities.
The RACE RESULT Ubidium Foldable Ground Antenna can be extended to an unprecedented 75 feet with just a single timing system, eliminating the need to place timing equipment in the middle of the road or on the other side.
One person can easily set up a RACE RESULT system in less than a minute, and pack it up immediately behind the sweep vehicle. Cars, trucks, and even emergency vehicles can safely drive over the mats with no worries about damage.
The Ubidium timing system is small, lightweight, and has an exceptionally long battery life. Swappable batteries eliminate the need for generators, car batteries, or external power supplies at the timing point, increasing safety for participants and spectators and reducing the risk of failure.
Ubidium requires only one system on the side of the road, rather than two systems facing each other, simplifying logistics for the timer. Your timing staff can better monitor performance, handle fewer cables, and won’t need to cross the course during the race to check the decoder status.

The RACE RESULT project started with Sönke Petersen in 1999 and the first timing system hardware made its debut in 2009. For maximum flexibility, we have a large capacity for programming passive transponders on a roll. You can choose between chips with a pre-programmed code, or a number range of your choosing. Thanks to our additional printing machines in the US, Australia and Malaysia, the transponders are delivered to you quickly if needed – even overnight in some cases.
