Every year, more than 3,000 ambitious cyclists start over various distances in Germany's oldest cycling race still taking place. Since 2019, the athletes have been riding with RACE RESULT seat post transponders and are timed at the start and finish with high-gain antennas. As a result, the net timekeeping prescribed by the German Cycling Cup can also be implemented without any effort. A special feature is the separate mountain classification, in which the fastest climber is sought. The times are transmitted from the decoders to the RACE RESULT server via SIM card and are therefore available for evaluation in real time.
Perfect for gran fondos, sportives, charity rides, and mass-participation cycling events, the RACE RESULT Passive System uses seat-post stickers with integrated transponders. Easy to distribute and requiring no return, it delivers real-time results through barrier-free detection with high-gain antennas. Trusted at events with thousands of riders, it enables accurate net-time measurement—without slowing the race flow.

Timing Thousands with Ease
The passive system handles large fields effortlessly, providing real-time net results at finish line speeds up to 60 km/h.
Ideally, set up high gain antennas on each side of the road. Connect all antennas to the same decoder. The cables of the antennas on the opposite side can be taped to the ground, or you can run them over the track using a target/sponsor traverse or similar. Connect the decoder to a laptop to get all finish times in real time. In RACE RESULT 12, use the 'Standard event' template. This template is the perfect place to start and may already have everything you need
Decoder
Receives the signals from the transponders, calculates the exact finish time and provides the data to the scoring software like RACE RESULT 12 in real time. Internal battery for 8-10 hours, integrated 4G module, precise GPS time, 2 ethernet ports.
High Gain Antenna
With high signal power these antennas provide long range and high precision. Please note: High Gain Antennas can currently only be connected to RACE RESULT Decoders, not to our new timing system Ubidium!
