Since 2021, mika:timing has used the RACE RESULT Active System for timing at the event. With more than 3,500 participants, the DATEV Challenge Roth is the world’s largest long-distance triathlon, renowned for its unique atmosphere. Regularly setting new world records, the event combines flawless organization, over 40 years of tradition, and a family-like vibe, making it an unforgettable experience for athletes and spectators alike.
The RACE RESULT Active System is trusted at premier triathlon events, from long-distance races to the World Triathlon Series. It delivers 100 % detection rates, waterproof transponders, and split-second precision. Loop Boxes and Track Boxes placed along the course provide a high number of split times. This way, you get live data for TV broadcasts, athlete tracking, and real-time analytics with minimal effort.

Seamless Transition Timing
Small, battery-powered Loop Boxes replace larger timing systems in the transition area. They capture every athlete and transmit the data live to the main timing system.
Effortless Live Data
Optionally, you can place dozens of small, autonomous Track Boxes along the course to capture the current position of every athlete. Ideal for tracking solutions and broadcasting.
Two Loop Boxes are placed at the entrance and exit of the transition area to record all split times, including transitions. All split detections are repeated wirelessly to Ubidium, the main timing system that is also recording the finish times. Live results are published online, grouping participants by their last split, to enable the public to follow their athlete.
In RACE RESULT 12 use the "Triathlon" template, which offers you an additional swim check, the transition and the finish timing points.

The cutting-edge timing system designed for superior performance and versatility. Boasts exceptional weatherproofing, lightweight design, and up to 32 hours battery life. Data is transmitted in real-time through multiple options, including SIM, Ethernet, POE, or USB-C connections.
ActivePro V3 Transponder
The most powerful active transponder on the market. With an outstanding accuracy of 0.004 seconds at speeds of up to 120 km/h, it is the ideal choice for most events. The guaranteed battery life of 5 years ensures reliable operation. Thanks to Tracking Mode and Store Mode, numerous split times can be recorded with minimal setup – unique in its class.
Loop Box
Easy and cost-effective way to collect splits times. At nearby timing points detections are repeated wirelessly to the main system. In case of remote timing points, the ActivePro Transponder saves the passing time and then transmits them when arriving at the finish. Integrated battery for 12-20 h.
RACE RESULT 12 Software
The complete software for timing and managing of any kind of sports event. The intuitive user interface allows you to setup events without complicated formulas or calculations. Featuring registration, event timing, scoring, live results and various output options in one browser-based solution.
